Abstract

Management Information Systems (MIS) play an important role in providing information to support managerial decision-making. However, decision success depends not only on system availability but also on information quality and the organization’s ability to utilize information effectively. This study aims to analyze information quality in MIS and its relationship with managerial decision-making through a literature review. The study adopts a qualitative approach by reviewing relevant national and international journal articles. The analysis identifies themes concerning information quality characteristics, the relationship between information and decisions, the role of technology and data management, human and organizational factors, and strategies for improving information quality. The review indicates that accuracy, relevance, timeliness, and completeness are important characteristics for supporting managerial decisions. Effective information utilization is also influenced by data governance, technology, user competence, leadership, and organizational communication. Therefore, improving information quality requires an integrated approach that combines technological capabilities, reliable data management, and organizational readiness to strengthen managerial decision-making processes.
