Implementasi Ekoteologi dalam Penguatan Kesadaran Pengelolaan Sampah Melalui Edukasi dan Pemanfaatan Bank Sampah di Desa Panerusan Wetan

Abstract

Waste management in Desa Panerusan Wetan, Susukan District, Banjarnegara Regency, remains hampered by low public awareness, improper waste segregation habits, and the prolonged inactivity of the local waste bank in Kalikoret Hamlet, which has been dormant for approximately six months due to the loss of its regular waste collector partner and the absence of support from the village government. This community service program aimed to strengthen public awareness of waste management by integrating ecotheological values—tawhid, khalifah, amanah, and mizan—into environmental education and the revitalization of waste bank practices. The program was implemented through an educational and participatory approach involving socialization, interactive demonstration, and hands-on practice for elementary and junior high school students as well as waste bank managers and members. Activities included plastic bottle press demonstrations, keychain crafting from bottle caps, and the provision of segregated waste bins based on the 3R principle. Results indicate that participants gained a more concrete understanding of the importance of waste segregation and recognized environmental stewardship as both a technical and spiritual responsibility. Although the provided facilities were well received, the long-term sustainability of the waste bank remains dependent on consistent institutional support, community participation, and stable partnerships with waste collectors.
