Abstract

The New Student Admission (PPDB) process is one of the administrative activities conducted at the beginning of each academic year. At SMP Bustanul Ulum NU Jatirokeh, the PPDB process is still carried out manually, resulting in inefficient applicant data management, longer data retrieval times, and manual selection based on students' report card scores. This study aims to design and develop a web-based New Student Admission Information System with report card assessment to support the registration process, student data management, data verification, and ranking process more effectively and efficiently. The system was developed using the Waterfall software development methodology, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was built using the Laravel framework with a MySQL database, while system testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method. The results indicate that the system is capable of facilitating user registration, student data entry, document uploads, data verification, and the ranking process based on report card scores as the primary assessment criterion, with achievement scores serving as additional points. Based on the testing results, all system functions operated according to user requirements, indicating that the system can support the implementation of the PPDB process at SMP Bustanul Ulum NU Jatirokeh in a more effective, efficient, and well-organized manner.
