Abstract

Low mathematics learning outcomes in fraction material are caused by students' difficulties in understanding abstract concepts and the limited use of concrete learning media. This study aimed to determine the effect of fraction block educational media on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Dukuh 01 East Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 57 students, including 29 students in the experimental class and 28 students in the control class. Data were collected through a multiple-choice mathematics achievement test and analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the experimental class obtained a mean score of 85.38, while the control class achieved a mean score of 73.00. The normality and homogeneity tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The hypothesis test produced a t-value of 3.251, which was greater than the t-table value of 2.004 at a significance level of 0.05. These findings indicate a significant effect of fraction block educational media on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, fraction block educational media can be used as an effective learning medium to improve students' understanding and achievement in fraction learning.
