Abstract

This study analyzes the performance of UD. Permata Alam as a manufacturing company engaged in wood processing with plywood as its main product, using the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence (MBCfPE) method. The problems faced by the company include unstable production target achievement, employee turnover, suboptimal quality control, and limited utilization of production data as a basis for evaluation. Based on the data processing results using the seven MBCfPE criteria, the leadership criterion obtained a score of 64.36 out of 120 points, strategic planning 47.17 out of 85 points, customer focus 50.83 out of 85 points, measurement, analysis, and knowledge management 54.75 out of 90 points, workforce focus 54.33 out of 85 points, operations focus 53.60 out of 85 points, and results 289.71 out of 450 points. The total performance score obtained by UD. Permata Alam was 614.75 out of 1000 points, or 61.48%, placing the company in the Emerging Industry Leader category. These results indicate that the company’s performance is at a fairly good level; however, several aspects still require improvement, particularly leadership, strategic planning, workforce management, quality control, production data utilization, and machine maintenance. Therefore, the company needs to carry out continuous improvements so that the production process becomes more stable, product quality is better maintained, and company targets can be achieved more effectively.
