Authorship Criteria

The Jurnal Ilmu Olahraga dan Pendidikan Jasmani (JIOPJ) adheres to international standards (such as COPE and ICMJE guidelines) to ensure appropriate recognition, transparency, and accountability for research contributions.

1. Criteria for Authorship

Authorship should be restricted to individuals who have met all of the following conditions:

  • Made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND

  • Drafted the work or revised it critically for important intellectual content; AND

  • Given final approval of the version to be published; AND

  • Agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

2. Acknowledgments

Individuals who participated in the development of the manuscript but do not qualify as authors (e.g., providing technical support, language editing, general administrative support, or funding acquisition) should not be listed as authors. Instead, their contributions should be recognized in the "Acknowledgments" section, provided they have given permission to be named.

3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author is responsible for all communication with the journal during the manuscript submission, peer review, and publication process. The corresponding author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication.

4. Changes in Authorship

Any addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list must be made before the manuscript is accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. The corresponding author must provide a clear, valid reason for the change and submit written confirmation (e.g., via email or letter) from all authors—including the one being added or removed—indicating their agreement to the change.
