Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of interactive video media based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in improving students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in IPAS subjects at the elementary school level. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The participants consisted of 50 sixth-grade students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using achievement tests, observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis techniques included normality test, homogeneity test, N-Gain test, and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a higher improvement compared to the control group. The average N-Gain score of the experimental group was 0.68 (moderate-high), while the control group was 0.32 (low-moderate). The independent sample t-test indicated a significance value of less than 0.05, meaning that the implementation of interactive video media based on PBL significantly improves students’ learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. Therefore, this learning approach is considered effective in enhancing elementary science education .
