This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, and evaluation of mentoring activities in developing students' religious character at SMP Swasta An Nizam Medan. This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, gathering data through participant observation and in-depth interviews with Islamic Education teachers, mentors, and students. The findings indicate that mentoring planning is conducted systematically and collaboratively, focusing on nurturing faith (aqidah), worship (ibadah), and morals (akhlak) through varied methods and worship control books. The evaluation proves that the program yields a significant positive impact, strongly supported by the synergy of the principal, teachers, parents, and a structured monitoring system. The managerial implication highlights that character building requires an integrated oversight ecosystem rather than mere knowledge transfer. However, the primary limitation lies in its localized qualitative scope, with evaluations identifying constraints such as limited duration and varying student participation. Therefore, future research is recommended to utilize a mixed-methods design across multiple schools to assess the long-term effectiveness of mentoring programs on retaining students' religious behavior in the digital era.
Feri Azlina, Nurmawati Copyright (c) 2026 Feri Azlina, Nurmawati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/6813 Tue, 21 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Civic Engagement Sebagai Penguatan Modal Sosial Dalam Bayang-Bayang Overburdening Community: Studi Kasus Pengelolaan Sampah Oleh KSM Randu Makmur Kab. Banyumas https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/6115
Zero waste to landfill waste management is an important approach to reducing dependence on landfills (TPA), but its effectiveness is largely determined by community involvement and the strength of social capital within the community. This study analyzes the role of civic engagement in strengthening social capital, despite being under the shadow of overburdening communities, in the KSM Randu Makmur Community Self-Help Group as a waste manager at the Kedungrandu Integrated Waste Disposal Site (TPST), Banyumas Regency. This article aims to explore the practice of community engagement and its contribution to the effectiveness of waste management, using Robert Putnam's social capital theory. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, through data collection techniques of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using pattern matching and explanation building techniques. The results show that civic engagement in KSM Randu Makmur strengthens three dimensions of social capital: bonding through solidarity among workers, bridging through collaboration with the community and offtakers, and linking through vertical relationships with the Environmental Agency. This social capital supports operational effectiveness, increases public trust, and strengthens internal coordination. However, its effectiveness remains limited because waste sorting has not been implemented at the household level, so the burden of sorting falls entirely on the KSM Randu Makmur. KSM's civic engagement is not entirely born of ecological awareness, but also serves as a survival strategy amidst economic constraints, employment opportunities, and regulatory policies. The findings confirm that strengthening social capital through civic engagement can support the program's operational sustainability, but its effectiveness is partial and vulnerable because it occurs within the context of limited structural support and an unequal distribution of responsibilities.
Allya Zareva Arnesty, Iwan Nurhadi Copyright (c) 2026 Allya Zareva Arnesty, Iwan Nurhadi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/6115 Tue, 21 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 The Effect of Chatgpt on Vocational Students’ Writing and Plagiarism Awareness https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/6900
Generative artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT is increasingly integrated into English as a Foreign Language (EFL) writing instruction. However, empirical evidence in vocational high school contexts remains limited, particularly concerning its impact on academic integrity. This quasi-experimental study examined the effects of ChatGPT-assisted writing instruction on students’ writing performance and plagiarism awareness. Sixty-eight tenth-grade students from a vocational high school in Bali were assigned to an experimental group (ChatGPT-assisted process writing with academic integrity guidance) and a control group (conventional instruction). Students completed a descriptive writing test and a plagiarism-awareness questionnaire. Data were analyzed using one-way MANOVA. The results revealed a significant multivariate effect, with the experimental group outperforming the control group in writing (M=73.76 vs 62.76) and plagiarism awareness (M=134.00 vs 88.85). These findings highlight ChatGPT’s potential to enhance both writing proficiency and academic integrity when integrated with explicit instruction on paraphrasing, citation, and ethical AI use.
I Gede Kardiyasa, Made Hery Santosa, I Putu Indra Kusuma Copyright (c) 2026 I Gede Kardiyasa, Made Hery Santosa, I Putu Indra Kusuma https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/6900 Wed, 05 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis Perhitungan Sudut Kemiringan Siku untuk Validasi Gerakan Pull-Up Berbasis Computer Vision https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/5504
Pull-ups are an effective indicator of physical fitness for training upper body muscle strength. However, pull-ups often face problems such as technical errors and inaccuracies in counting the number of repetitions, especially when performed independently without the assistance of a trainer. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a computer vision-based system in automatically detecting, calculating, and validating pull-up movements through video analysis. The system was developed as a website using the MediaPipe framework to detect key points of the body (pose landmarks) and trigonometric methods to calculate the elbow angle as the main parameter in determining the up and down phases of the movement. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method, where the system's calculation results were compared with manual calculations for comparison. Test videos of 10–20 seconds with a minimum resolution of 720p were used as system input. The results showed that the system was able to calculate the number of pull-up repetitions accurately and consistently based on changes in elbow angle, and provided objective movement validation. Thus, this system can be a practical, efficient, and easily accessible alternative solution to help users evaluate pull-up exercises independently without the need for additional devices.
Sanditya Arry Prabowo, Daniel Swanjaya, Patmi Kasih Copyright (c) 2026 Sanditya Arry Prabowo, Daniel Swanjaya, Patmi Kasih https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/5504 Mon, 10 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Isolasi dan Kuantifikasi Koloni Jamur dari Rizosfer Tumbuhan Bungur (Lagerstroemia speciosa) https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/6488
The rhizosphere is a soil zone surrounding plant roots characterized by high microbial abundance, including organic matter-decomposing fungi. Trichoderma sp. is recognized as an antagonistic fungus effective in controlling plant pathogens and playing a role in cellulose degradation. This study aimed to explore and identify Trichoderma sp. isolates from the rhizosphere of crape myrtle (Lagerstroemia speciosa) as biocontrol agent candidates. Soil samples were collected in June 2023 at three locations in Lampung University: Department of Biology (JB), Faculty of Agriculture (FP), and Faculty of Engineering (FT). Fungal density analysis was conducted quantitatively, while isolate identification was based on macroscopic and microscopic morphological characteristics. The results showed that the highest fungal density was found at the FP location (5×10⁷ CFU/g) and the lowest at JB (3×10⁷ CFU/g). Density variation was influenced by vegetation diversity and soil organic matter content. The obtained isolates were identified as Trichoderma sp. with characteristics of dark green colonies, erect conidiophores, and vertical branching. Trichoderma sp. from the crape myrtle rhizosphere has potential to be developed as a biocontrol agent for plant pathogens and organic matter decomposer.
Yosi Dwi Saputra, Jonathan Puji Sarwoko Copyright (c) 2026 Yosi Dwi Saputra, Jonathan Puji Sarwoko https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejournal.nusantaraglobal.ac.id/index.php/jige/article/view/6488 Sat, 15 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000
