DESIGN OF A MAPPING DRONE FOR AGRICULTURAL DIGITALIZATION AND IRRIGATION FOR INDONESIAN FARMERS IN THE MOUNTAINS OF THAILAND

The mountainous topography of Thailand presents significant geographic challenges for Indonesian farmers, particularly in managing irrigation water distribution and determining efficient planting areas. This drone mapping project aims to design and build a mapping drone as a solution to support the digitalization of local Indonesian agriculture in mountainous Thailand. The drone is operated to fly along a route to capture aerial imagery of agricultural land. The resulting images are then processed using photogrammetry and Geographic Information System (GIS) software to produce topographic contour maps and water distribution routes. The resulting map analysis helps farmers identify land slopes and precisely plan gravity-based irrigation flow directions. The implementation of this technology has been proven to improve water management efficiency, minimize erosion risks, and optimize planting area allocation. Overall, the integration of drone mapping has been an appropriate approach that is adaptive, effective, and easily understood by Indonesian farmers in mountainous Thailand.

PORTABLE SOIL SENSORS FOR AGRICULTURAL DIGITALIZATION AND CROP OPTIMIZATION FOR INDONESIAN FARMERS IN THAILAND

Indonesian farmers working in the mountainous agricultural area of Chiang Mai Province, Thailand, still depend largely on visual observation, hand-feel assessment, manual thermometers, and accumulated experience when determining soil condition, fertilizer dosage, irrigation timing, and crop suitability. This situation limits access to comparable field data and may lead to inefficient input allocation and avoidable operational expenditure. This community service activity aimed to implement a portable precision soil sensor as an appropriate technology for agricultural digitalization, while strengthening farmers’ capacity to convert soil information into practical cultivation decisions. The activity used a Participatory Action Research approach through needs assessment, joint problem mapping, technology preparation, field deployment, demonstration, assisted practice, observation, and reflection with members of the Indonesian Farmers Union in Thailand. The sensor was used to provide real-time readings of soil moisture, pH, nutrient status, and water requirements. The readings were then interpreted for irrigation prioritization, fertilizer allocation, crop selection, and repeated monitoring of different land plots. The implementation produced an initial transition from experience-only assessment toward decisions supported by measurable field evidence. Farmers became able to operate the device, compare readings among sampling points, discuss the meaning of each parameter, and relate the information to routine land management. Program observations indicated potential fertilizer-use efficiency of 15–25% and potential overall production and operational-cost efficiency of 20–30%; however, these values remain preliminary projections because controlled multi-season yield and financial data were not available. The activity demonstrates that a portable soil sensor can function simultaneously as a measurement instrument, a farmer-learning medium, and a basis for more efficient and sustainable agricultural management. The program also supports SDGs 2, 9, and 17 through food-production optimization, practical innovation, and cross-country institutional partnership.

PENDIDIKAN SEBAGAI FONDASI PENINGKATAN KUALITAS SDM: PENDEKATAN PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH DALAM PENGUATAN PENDIDIKAN, KESEHATAN LINGKUNGAN, DAN UMKM DI DESA SUMBER KEMUNING

Extreme poverty was a multidimensional problem associated with low human resource quality, limited access to education, weak environmental health awareness, and underutilized local economic potential. This study analyzed the application of the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to improve human resource quality through educational programs, environmental health initiatives, and MSME empowerment in Sumber Kemuning Village. The activities used a participatory approach involving diagnosis, planning, action, observation, reflection, and evaluation conducted collaboratively with the community. Data were collected through field observation, interviews, discussions, documentation, and direct participation in community activities. The findings showed that an initial socio-emotional approach built trust and increased community participation. Education on the Smart Indonesia Card for College (KIP-K) expanded educational literacy and access to information about higher education. Environmental initiatives, including communal work and educational media, encouraged collective awareness of cleanliness. Spatial mapping of MSMEs and village potential information boards improved the visibility of local businesses. The study concluded that PAR was effective in strengthening human resource capacity, social capital, and sustainable village development by positioning communities as development subjects

PEMBERDAYAAN GURU MUHAMMADIYAH MELALUI PROGRAM REKOGNISI PEMBELAJARAN LAMPAU: KOLABORASI STRATEGIS UNTUK PENDIDIKAN BERKEMAJUAN

Sixty percent of teachers across six Muhammadiyah schools in Tasikmalaya City did not possess a bachelor's degree qualification linear with their teaching assignments. This community service activity aimed to enhance understanding and facilitate the conversion of teachers' work experience through the Recognition of Past Learning program. The implementation method was adjusted from a centralized workshop plan to a direct visit strategy and personal mentoring at each partner school. The implementation results indicated that this personal approach was highly effective in increasing the interest and commitment of teachers to continue their studies. The main obstacle found in the field was that many physical documents of work experience had not been digitalized. The involvement of students as technical facilitators successfully accelerated the scanning of those physical files. In conclusion, strategic collaboration with regional leadership and school principals through direct mentoring strategies successfully overcame administrative and psychological obstacles for teachers participating in the academic qualification equivalence program.

INTEGRASI LIMBAH DAN PEKARANGAN: PEMANFAATAN PUPUK KOTORAN AYAM UNTUK KETAHANAN PANGAN BERKELANJUTAN DUKUH DALANGAN

Suboptimal chicken-manure management and low soil fertility have constrained the use of home gardens in Dalangan Hamlet, Ngemplak Village, Kalikotes District. This community service program aimed to integrate the processing of chicken manure into organic fertilizer with small-scale cultivation to support household food security. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied through field observation, interviews, educational sessions, fertilizer-making practice, polybag planting practice, and evaluation. The ‘Gerakan Bersama Ketahanan Pangan’ program involved residents of Community Unit 12. The activities drew active participation during presentations, discussions, and hands-on sessions. Participants practiced processing dried chicken manure using a decomposer and preparing planting media for polybags. The program introduced practical knowledge concerning livestock-waste use, soil fertility, and home gardens as household food sources. It also showed that livestock waste could be processed into useful fertilizer for household-scale cultivation. Continued implementation requires independent practice by residents and periodic assistance from village officials.

PENGUATAN LITERASI MASYARAKAT MELALUI EDUKASI KESEHATAN DAN HUKUM BERBASIS KOMUNITAS DI DESA SEMPU KECAMATAN NGEBEL KABUPATEN PONOROGO

The community of Sempu Village, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, faces a need to strengthen literacy in the areas of health and digital law. This community service program aimed to provide community-based health and digital legal education that was contextualized to the needs of the community. The program was implemented through two activities. Health education was conducted on August 8, 2026, through a Family Integrated Health Post (Posyandu Keluarga) targeting toddlers, mothers of toddlers, and older adults. The activities included health services, education on the Isi Piringku balanced nutrition guidelines, hypertension prevention, and physical activity through group exercise. Digital legal education was conducted on August 10, 2026, at the Sempu Village Hall, targeting members of the Family Welfare Empowerment group (PKK), village officials, and KKN participants. The activities employed face-to-face counseling, interactive presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The topics covered the risks of misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and deepfakes, personal data security, digital fraud risks, as well as mechanisms for reporting and accessing legal assistance through the Legal Aid Post (Pos Bantuan Hukum/Posbankum). The results showed active community participation in health education and physical activities, as well as various questions concerning hypertension, dietary patterns, digital fraud, transaction security, and AI-generated content. The activities demonstrate that community-based education can serve as a contextual and relevant means of delivering information in accordance with community needs.

PENGUATAN KEMANDIRIAN PANGAN LOKAL KELOMPOK WANITA TANI BUNGA TELANG DESA MELES MELALUI PENGOLAHAN PASCAPANEN DAN PEMASARAN DIGITAL

Kelompok Wanita Tani Bunga Telang Desa Meles memiliki potensi pengembangan pangan lokal yang belum dioptimalkan karena keterbatasan pengolahan pascapanen, rendahnya diversifikasi produk, pengelolaan usaha yang belum sistematis, serta pemasaran yang masih bersifat konvensional. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini telah dirancang untuk memperkuat kemandirian pangan lokal dan kapasitas ekonomi kelompok melalui penerapan teknologi pengolahan pascapanen, penguatan manajemen usaha, serta pengembangan branding dan pemasaran digital. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif kolaboratif melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan pengolahan bunga telang, penerapan teknologi tepat guna, pendampingan manajemen usaha dan legalitas produk, serta pengembangan kanal pemasaran digital. Program diarahkan untuk menghasilkan diversifikasi produk berupa bubuk bunga telang siap saji, peningkatan standar mutu dan kemasan, penguatan pencatatan usaha, serta pengembangan platform telangmeles.com sebagai media pemasaran. Pelaksanaan program diharapkan memperkuat kemampuan kelompok dalam menghasilkan produk bernilai tambah, memperluas akses pasar, serta meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi perempuan desa secara berkelanjutan
